COVID-19 update - 19 July 2021
As you know, today the Premier has announced new level 4 restrictions that will come into effect from midnight tonight (19 July 2021). As a school, we have implemented the following changes which will come into effect from 20 July 2021.
While staff and students will be attending school as normal, we are restricting access for all other visitors including parents/caregivers to pick-up and drop-off only. Face-to-face meetings will be rescheduled to online or over the phone wherever possible. If you need to contact a member of staff or set up a meeting, please call 8258 5466.
COVID-SAfe check in
All staff, contractors and visitors (including parents/caregivers) must complete the COVID-Safe QR check in when entering Para Hills High School. Where possible, we encourage all visitors to contact the school via phone rather than attending in-person while these new precautions are in place. Finance and administration services are available via phone from 8:00am – 4:00pm on school days to assist you.
Classes and online learning
All classes will be running as normal and we will not be providing online learning at this stage.
For this week, all school excursions and camps planned for week 1 of this this term, as well as interschool sporting activities, will be postponed.
At this stage, masks are not mandated in the classroom however staff and students can wear a mask if they choose.
If you’re unwell, get tested
People who have any of the symptoms below, even if mild, should get tested for COVID-19 as soon as symptoms appear:
• fever or chills
• sore throat
• runny nose
• shortness of breath
• loss of taste or smell
• diarrhoea and vomiting
Please visit SA Health’s website for details of testing centres and clinics.
With these new precautions in place, I want to assure you that Para Hills High School continues to be a safe place to send your young people to continue their learning. At this stage we have not been contacted by SA Health, so we will continue to follow precautionary measures set by the Department for Education.
Our staff are working hard to ensure your young person’s learning is not affected by these changes and we will keep you informed every step of the way. When we know something, you will know something.
