Happy Belly Restaurant wows the local community
As part of their Passion Project, our Disability Unit class set up their own pop-up restaurant in Week 8 to thank members of the community who have assisted the Unit throughout the year.
Passion Projects are an inquiry-based learning program which allow students to work on a project or idea they are passionate about during class time. They encourage and fosters the students’ sense of curiosity, ownership and empowerment over their learning, both in and out of the classroom.
Attendees included Member for Wright Blair Boyer, Member for Playford Michael Brown and Independent State MP for Florey Frances Bedford.
The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive with the students' praised for their professional service and setup.
Special thanks to Ellen from Sfera's restaurant for providing training and supplies for the day and allowing our students to learn from her expertise throughout the term.
As a reward for a job well done, the class will be heading to Sfera's this week to celebrate.
