Bring Your Own Device now available at Para Hills High School
From term 4, students will be able to bring their own devices and connect to our network with all the functionality of using a school device through our new Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) system.
To use BYOD, students will need to bring their device to school and open up the school’s web site at www.phhs.sa.edu.au (this will only work if you are onsite and able to connect to our wireless network).
You will notice a new BYOD button has been added to the top right-hand corner of the website.
Clicking this button will take you to our BYOD setup page. Simply follow the steps to set up your device.
Our ICT department recommends the following minimum specifications:
- CPU: Intel Core i3 or better
- RAM: 4GB or better
- Screen size: 11.6” or larger
- Battery life: 6 hours or better
- Windows 10 or Mac OS X preferred
Please note, Chromebooks are not supported. Senior students and those needing to use the Adobe suite of tools may need higher specifications.
If students have not already downloaded Office 365, the full suite of programs is available for free to all students with an @sa.edu.au email address.
If you decide to bring your own device, please advise the ICT office if you encounter any problems.
The school cannnot take responsibility for loss or damage to devices, however many home insurance policies may cover the use of a laptop away from the home. Whilst we will assist in diagnosing technical issues, this does not include hardware faults and repairs.
