Senior School news

It’s hard to believe that 13 years of schooling is nearly complete for our Year 12 students.
For some, it's been an exciting few weeks of receiving conditional offers to university through alternative entry programs. For many, it is a stressful time as they balance the demands of completing final assessments, prepare for exams and select their post-school pathways.
While students continue to work hard to achieve their personal goals it is also a time to celebrate.
Final assembly
At 9.00am on Wednesday 28 October, we will hold the Year 12 Farewell Assembly in the Gym. After this date there will be no formal lessons for our year 12’s however we expect many to be onsite finishing work and preparing for exams.
Students are asked to sign in/out when they are onsite and be in school uniform.
Exams
Year 12 exams will start on Monday 2 November and conclude on Friday 12 November. Exam timetables will be distributed to students early next term.
Formal
With final assignments submitted, our year 12 students will be able to shift their focus to the formal and graduation night. This year’s formal is on Friday 27 November at The Hilton Hotel from 6.45pm- 11.00pm. Tickets must be finalised by the end of week 3 next term.
Please note: this is the same night as the year 11 informal dinner.
Graduation night
On Wednesday 2 December we celebrate the accomplishments of our students at the Year 12 Graduation and Presentation Night. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, this is a ticketed event with a maximum capacity of 400 people. Any person wanting to attend, including small children, will need to have a valid ticket or they will be refused entry. Tickets are restricted to 2 per student and will be distributed with letters of invitation.
Year 12 Super Study Sessions
As they do every school holidays, our teachers will be available to support our year 12’s with school holidays study sessions.

Year 10 and 11 - Step into SACE
Next term is a busy time for not only year 12 students but our year 10 and 11 students as they prepare to transition through SACE.
Step into SACE days are designed to prepare our senior students for subjects they will be studying in 2021. With an extended break over summer, it’s an ideal time for them to do some advance preparation for a successful start to next year.
Year 10
- 1 December - last day of formal lessons
- 2-3 December - Step into SACE days
- 4 December - PLP presentations
Year 11
- 20 November - last day of formal lessons
- 23-24 November - preparing for year 12 days
- 25-26 November - exams
We expect every year 10 and 11 student to complete their compulsory SACE subjects before they finish this year. Students who have not completed PLP, English and Maths by the end of formal lessons will be expected to return to school in weeks 8 and/or 9 to complete any outstanding work. The school will provide teacher supervision and support for these students, ensuring they start 2021 in a good position.
